The Artemis/ProFuse platform is a system that combines 3D semi-robotic tracking and deformable MR-Ultrasound fusion to improve the accuracy and reliability of prostate cancer detection and diagnosis. It uses a mechanical robotic arm to stabilize and hold the ultrasound probe, eliminating prostate deformation during the biopsy procedure and enabling accurate and reproducible biopsy targeting. By overlaying previously obtained MRI images with real-time ultrasound images, the platform allows urologists like Dr Chabert to map out prostate lesions in a three-dimensional fashion, facilitating precise biopsy targeting.
